NLS 2020

So, you’ve heard about the NLS chili fundraiser coming up Saturday, February 17th, 2018 at 3pm at Bethel Lutheran Church in Northfield…

You may ask yourself, “What is NLS and why are we raising money for it?”

First of all, NLS is the National Lutheran Secretariat. It is Via de Cristo on a national level. Over 40 VdC groups from all over the country are all actually part of the NLS. They are all invited to a once a year gathering to share Christian fellowship, uplifting worship, developmental workshops, inspiring speakers, and to enjoy the gifts of the Holy Spirit. This is not a regular VdC weekend – one made for “weekenders”. This weekend is geared toward the servers and leaders.

Minnesota has the pleasure once again to host this amazing event in 2020. As part of the Minnesota VdC, we are helping raise money to pay for venue, supplies, etc. As this event in 2020 gets closer, we will need volunteers in many forms. Stay tuned to see how you can help.

This year, the event is being held in Palm Beach Florida at Atlantic University on July 26-29. Everyone is invited. You don’t need to hold an official position to go. There are no requirements other than a love of Christ and a passion for VdC. YOU are invited! YOU are welcome! YOU are wanted! If you are interested in going, registration hasn’t started yet, but we’ll post more info as it becomes available.

It’s not too late to help with the chili fundraiser. Any help in the following ways would be greatly appreciated! Contact Roger Van Velhuisen, Jennifer Coudron, or Melissa Wagner if you’d like to help.

  • Donate a silent auction item
  • Enter a chili in the contest
  • Help with set-up and/or clean-up
  • Bring your instrument and jam with the musicians
  • Help serve, tally votes, or sell items
